AECOM: Project Manager: Highways

Location: Western Cape

Roles and Responsibilities of this AECOM Job Vacancy

  1. Project management;
  2. Undertake projects adhering to a quality management system and ensure the they are executed to high technical standards and within budgets and programme;
  3. Responsible for financial management, administration and control of projects;
  4. Provide essential technical design and management support to the team;
  5. Guide and mentor junior subordinate staff;
  6. Conceptual and detailed design of roads projects;
  7. Preparation/checking of contract documentation and bills of quantities;
  8. Administration of construction contracts;
  9. Ad-hoc site supervision;
  10. Complete any other work related to projects within the department;
  11. Staff development and management,
  12. Business development, and
  13. Lead tender or proposal activities to obtain work and/or supply inputs on road design discipline for large tenders.


  1. Minimum of 10 years’ experience within a Consulting Engineering environment
  2. Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering.
  3. Professionally registered with the Engineering Council of South Africa.
  4. Experience with SANRAL and Western Cape Government roads projects and clients.
  5. Good understanding of the transportation industry
  6. 15 years’ experience within a Consulting Engineering environment.
  7. Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering.
  8. Project Management accreditation (e.g. PMP or Pr. CPM).
